I love many things about my job, but I have to admit that pretty much nothing makes me happier than the days we deliver textbooks to the hands of our students in Mali. Thanks to the generous folks at Denik, last week we did just that — handing more than 400 textbooks to the students of Denik Middle School in Zambougou.
This might not seem like a big deal to you, but in Mali many schools have ZERO textbooks. Even where schools do have books, you often see 3 or 4 students sharing one textbook. Just imagine learning algebra or a foreign language in those circumstances!
Textbooks are just as fundamental as a school building when it comes to learning. Thanks to Denik, the students of Zambougou have the tools they need to turn their classroom into real places of learning. And what the students are learning will change their lives for the better, forever. Thank you Denik!
