Mali Rising is excited to announce the launch of our new podcast, Rising. This is a new, easy way for the curious to learn more about Mali and about Mali Rising’s work. Through interviews, story-telling, and more, we make the people and places of Mali come alive.
So many people tell me they wish they could visit Mali. Given the complications of international travel and the shaky security situation in Mali, few people are likely to get the chance to explore this vibrant country. So, we designed the Rising podcast to allow you to do a little exploring from wherever you listen to podcasts — walking the dog, doing dishes, or where ever!
The first three episodes are live now. They cover a general introduction to the country and Mali Rising, an exploration of the food of Mali, and a look at some of the cultural traditions of Mali’s people. Along the way, you’ll meet our great staff as well.
Future episodes will include more in-depth discussions of topics such as girls’ education, interviews with other organizations working for good in Mali, discussions with graduates and other Malians, and much more.
